Only For A Season

Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year. The weather is so perfect on most days. It’s not too cold, or too hot. Nature takes on this beautiful, warm, and colorful backdrop. It makes you want to be anywhere but indoors. But eventually it must leave, and a not-so-warm season moves in.

Winter is beautiful to look at, but the weather can be very harsh. Once this season takes form it can linger for a while. After too long we are desperately anticipating some warm weather.

Walking with God is very much like these seasons. The word “seasons” can also refer to different periods in our lives. There are seasons we will love and others that we can’t wait to get through. Everybody is in a season right now in their lives whether it be good or bad. But today I want to focus on those who are going through a cold, dark, and lonely season. A season that seems as if it will never end.

I know what those seasons are like. It seems as if everyone is against you, and instead of encouraging you, they kick you while you’re down. Those very people who you were always there for are either nowhere to be found or have amnesia. Your family and some of your closest friends begin to show their true colors and reveal themselves as strangers. You suddenly realize that you are alone.

You have hit rock bottom and no one is coming to your rescue. So what do you do? Do you give up? Do you wallow in self pity and depression, and allow yourself to fall deeper and deeper into a hole? No, Beloved! You turn to the person who you should have turned to from the beginning, Jesus. Cry out to Him! Ask Him to give you strength for this season. Jesus said that He would never leave us nor forsake us. There are seasons of tribulation. Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” You know what that tells me, Beloved? Jesus is telling us that just like Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring, this trial is only for a season. And though it wants to linger it has to end. Give God some praise for that revelation. Your winter is ending and spring is about to make your life blossom. Please don’t leave this site before you pray the prayer below asking God to guide you in this season. I love you with agape love and I will see you back here on tomorrow. God bless.

Sincere Prayer: Only For A Season.

Father, I come to You asking for forgiveness for anything that I have done that was not pleasing inYour sight. Forgive me for any idols I have laid up for myself. Wash me, Lord and cleanse my heart. Forget about my transgressions and make me the apple of Your eye once again.

Father, I thank You for Your mercy and Your grace. I realize that I can do nothing without You, because when I try everything falls apart. Thank You for keeping Your hand on me even when I did not acknowledge You.

But right now I cry out for Your help and I ask You to give me strength in this trying season. Give me Your wisdom and guide me in the right directions. Provide all of my needs and surround me with people who will make a deposit into my life and not a withdrawal. I pray that my family and I will always have shelter, food and finances to get us through this season.

Most of all I pray that this season will bring me closer to You and take me to my next level in You. Reveal to me what I am suppose to learn and what I am supposed to be doing ministry wise. Again, I thank You that this is only for a season and that when it ends I will be better. In Jesus Mighty name. Amen.
